Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine
& Craniosacral Therapy
with Tatum Fjerstad
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine are time-honored practices rooted in ancient traditions, which utilize acupuncture needles, cupping, guasha, massage, food therapy, herbal formulas and breathing techniques to treat a wide variety of ailments. Licensed acupuncturist Tatum Fjerstad, offers consent driven care through a trauma-informed lens and most enjoys working with people who are navigating issues with mental health, digestion, menstrual health, sleep and pain.
Craniosacral Therapy is a light touch form of bodywork that helps bring the nervous system into a deep state of rest, so that your body can heal. Since 2019, Tatum has been providing this to folks who are in need of care but are not in a space where they can receive more intense forms of bodywork (or they just aren’t into needles). She sprinkles these subtle but powerful holds into all of the care she provides, but it takes center stage in her Needle-Free visits. Appointments are available Thursdays 10:00am-4:30pm. |

The Metal Element: Yin Yoga for Autumn Balance
Chinese Medicine is built upon a simple and elegant five element system. Each element or phase aligns with a different season, color, emotion, sound, taste, and more. In this workshop, Tatum Fjerstad, a licensed acupuncturist and yoga teacher, will teach you about Metal, the element that corresponds with autumn, and how to bring it into balance using movement, pressure points, food therapy and more. The 90-minute session will start with a short lecture before we move into a luxurious yin practice, focusing on the meridians associated with the metal element, and finish with a meditation.

Tatum Fjerstad, L.Ac., (she/hers) is an acupuncturist, craniosacral therapist and yoga and meditation facilitator with more than a decade of experience working in wellness. Using levity and an impeccable sense of humor, she teaches and provides care from a place of radical self acceptance and wants nothing more than for people to understand that they are lovable just as they are, no matter what you’ve heard elsewhere.
Tatum has treated patients of all ages at Courage Kenny Rehabilitation Institute, Masonic Children’s Hospital, Woodwinds Hospital, Salvation Army Harbor Light, YMCA George Wellbeing, and Constellation Acupuncture and Healing Arts. In addition to her time at SILA, she runs her own practice in Minneapolis. Whether she’s needling, cupping, holding or teaching, Tatum believes that you’re the boss of you and you know yourself best. She may hold a masters degree, a medical license and have years of experience providing care, but as a trauma-informed provider, she will follow your lead and show up for you in ways that are grounded in transparency, honesty and curiosity. When she’s not helping others, you can find Tatum playing with and learning about flowers, hiking, kayaking, going on the longest walks, singing by moving bodies of water, and practicing new skills like sewing and keeping plants alive when you have no south facing windows in your apartment. |
